Umpires:
The league welcomes "returning umpires" and is always looking for new umpires! Training will be provided, as well as coaching throughout the season. Don't be shy! It really is fun ...
 
Feel free to attend this week-end's umpire clinic at St Francis High School. Classroom presentation and work on Friday evening 8/27 from 6-8pm, with a guest speaker from Virginia. Games on Saturday with high school teams. Umpires registered to umpire high school games will get field evaluation, but all are welcome to see the games and listen to comments.

FALL LEAGUE
The NCFHA officers are currently working on securing fields for the season. Stanford University is having several games on Sundays so alternatives venues are being investigated. If anyone has an in with a field hockey field, please contact NCFHA President, Kat Thomas kat@auc.com.

FALL PICKUP HOCKEY
Fall Session will begin on September 1. There are currently 7 dates set for pick up hockey on Wednesday evenings at Stanford. We need to confirm that we have enough players to commit, so if you plan on playing PLEASE fill out this online form so we can get a headcount. FALL PICK UP HOCKY FORM >>

WEDNESDAY NIGHT PICK-UP HOCKEY
Fall Session:/ September 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 /October 6, 13. 6:30-8PM. Stanford University.
FEES: 7 Sessions: $75/4 Sessions: $45/Pay per session: $15. Student: $7.

BAY AREA YOUTH PROGRAM
NCFHA is offering a co-ed youth field hockey program in September and October 2010 for boys and girls ages 6 to13 (grades 1 through 8). The aim of this program is to promote this great outdoor team sport by teaching kids basic field hockey skills in a fun and safe environment. Kids will be divided by size, age and ability, and they will be coached by an enthusiastic group of players with many years of field hockey experience.  All levels of players are encouraged to come and have fun.

COACHING POSITION: Asst. Varsity Coach
University High School, a small, independent high school located in the northern part of San Francisco, seeks an assistant varsity field hockey coach for the Fall season.
The season runs from late August to about November 1st. Practices are after school, generally in the 3pm-6pm range (2 hours per day). Games are during the week. There are two Saturday tournaments, but otherwise weekends are free. Practices are at the school's field located in the Presidio just a short walk from the main school campus. University is a very strong academic high school usually ranked among the top 20 schools in the country. The athletic program is also strong having been named the strongest Division 5 athletic program in the state 5 times in the past 12 years. The ability to drive is a requirement for this position.
