Welcome to the Bay Area Youth Field Hockey Program

BAY AREA YOUTH FIELD HOCKEY PROGRAM
BOYS & GIRLS FALL 2011

The Northern California Field Hockey Association (NCFHA) is offering a co-ed youth field hockey program in September and October 2011 for both boys and girls ages 5 to13. The aim of this program is to promote this great outdoor team sport by teaching kids basic field hockey skills in a fun and safe environment. Kids will be divided by size, age and ability, and they will be coached by an enthusiastic group of players with many years of experience.  All levels of players are encouraged to come and have fun.

Why: Field Hockey is the second most played sport in the world after soccer.  In the US it’s known more as a women’s college sport, but all over the world both boys and girls play and they often start at a young age.  In other countries you often can see 2 or 3 generations within a family playing and spending the day at a field hockey sport center and there are even professional sport teams.  Build confidence, improve coordination, and making new friends are just some of the benefits.

When:   Weekends in September, October and November.   8 - 1 hour practice sessions:

  1. 9/10, Saturday 1:30-2:30pm
  2. 9/18, Sunday 1-2pm
  3. 9/25, Sunday 1-2pm

Who:  Boys and girls, ages 5 to 13 (grades K through 8)
